14-Day Namibian Treasures Expedition

Day 1: The Group will arrive at Windhoek Airport during the mid-morning and spend the first night at the Villa Verdi Guest House.
Day 2-3: After breakfast we start our journey travelling from savannah to desert shrub as we approach the edge of the escarpment to the sand dunes of Namibia. Two nights at Namib Naukluft Lodge.
Day 4-5: We set off after breakfast in a westerly direction to re-enter the Namib Naukluft Park at the amazing Kuiseb Canyons, and continue over the "gravel plains" to the famous Skeleton Coast, Swakopmund. Two nights Eberwein Hotel.
Day 6: Our route takes us north to Henties Bay to Cape Cross stopping en route at interesting lichen fields and saltpans. One night at Cape Cross Lodge.


Day 7: We continue north through Damarland; beautiful terrain in a open, unprotected wilderness area offering amazing landscapes and rock formations, a variety of desert adapted animals can be spotted. One night at Mowani Mountain Camp.
Day 8: We travel north via Langasem Pass to the Palmwag concession arriving at Palmwag Lodge in the afternoon which is part of the Damaraland area. Two nights Palmwag Lodge.
Day 9: A full day set aside to spend this time with the Save the Rhino Trackers. They take us into the concession area to search for the endangered Black Rhino, following their tracks. This is the last region where these magnificent animals roam free, outside of a national park. Chances are good in finding Rhino. We return to the lodge in the late afternoon, then dinner.
Day 10: We travel north via Stoff Pass into Kaokaland, home of the traditional Himba people—stop en route to visit Herero/Himba villages on the way to Opuwo where the group will arrive during the afternoon. One night Okahane Lodge.
Day 11: In the morning we visit more remote Himba villages where we are able to see their traditional way of life, their homes, and interesting clothing. Then we set off for Hobatere Lodge (pictured below) bordering western Etosha, situated in the former Damaraland and the gateway to Kaokoland. One night Hobatere Lodge.
Day 12: We enter Etosha National Park via the western route at Otjivasando, a route closed to the public, but permitted to tour operators with permits. We reach Okaukuejo Resort, and preferring to stay within the park parameters we make use of the resorts bungalows/chalets. One night Okaukuejo Resort.
Day 13: Depart after a leisurely breakfast for a full day game drive to the eastern boundary of Etosha National Park. Historical Naumtoni Castle is of interest offering excellent views onto the pan. One night at Namutoni Resort bungalows.
Day 14: Transfer to Mokuti airstrip for charter flight to Windhoek.
