A true wilderness area with beautiful landscapes and scenery combined with the best wild life. This area has been declared as a world heritage site because of it’s treasures, the peace and tranquil of the Zambezi River together with vast game rich flood plains with beautiful forests. The beauty of the backdrop of the mountains of the Rift valley adds to its other natural phenomenon. The park is known for its herds of Elephant, buffalo, and large numbers of Hippos, lion and healthy populations of the endangered wild dogs. The area has excellent birding countryside for rare birds such as Shelley’s sun birds, Angola Pitta, Narina Trogon and Livingstone’s Flycatcher.
Matusadona National Park
The park is situated between the Southern Shoreline of Lake Kariba and the Matuzviadona mountain ranges, which form part of the Zambezi escarpment. The area is a true wilderness area that concentrates a lot on water based activities and walking. It offers the best lion and Black Rhino trekking expeditions in it’s rugged but yet fascinating terrain. Some of the last wild Black Rhino inhabit the hills of this scenic park.
